10 Photos Of Beautiful Landscapes Covered In Fog

Fog is pretty amazing and can transform a beautiful landscape into something that looks like it could be out of a fairy tale. The fog can sneak up on you, creaping in and thickening around buildings and through the forest. Or it can roll in fast, taking over the landscape that not much can be seen through it.

Today we wanted to share with you 10 photos of beautiful landscapes covered in fog, each captured by 500px photographers from around the world. You will be amazed at these breathtaking landscapes and how the fog makes them look so unique.

Photographer Does Newborn Photoshoot... But With A Kitten!

A 30-year-old photographer from Benton Habor, Michigan, named Kitty Schaub, recently adopted a kitten named Luna with her 5-year old daughter. On April 24, Schaub was preparing for an upcoming newborn photoshoot by getting out a bunch of props she needed and was suddenly struck with a fun idea when she saw Luna sound asleep on the couch.

“I picked her up, loosely wrapped her in a blanket, and set her down,” Schaub said in an article on Huffington Post.

She began to take photos of Luna, treating her just like she would a newborn subject. The photos that came out are so cute! Take a look for yourself below.

Schaub found the photos so hilarious she decided to post them to her professional Facebook page and they quickly went viral, receiving over 64,000 likes and 66,000 shares.

Since so many people think Luna’s pictures are so great, Schaub decided to compile them in a June to December 2017 calendar, which is on sale for $20 on her website www.kittyleephotography.com and all the proceeds will go to Save a Stray, an animal rescue in St. Joseph, Michigan.

If you take newborn photography and want to get 49 pages with even more about posing newborns including set up, how to incorporate parents into the session, lighting, camera and editing techniques and so much more, this Posing Workflow For Newborn Photography is for you! For the sale price of $15 (regularly $149.99), you will also get 24 posing cards so you can take these tips on the go!

Watch This Video For Tips On Taking Landscape Photos In The Fog

If you shoot landscape photography, you have probably had to experience taking photos in all different types of weather. You could come across rain, bright sunshine, clouds or beautiful sunrises or sunsets. One thing you may not shoot in very often, depending on where you live especially, is the fog. But fog can create some pretty unique shots if captured correctly. Today, we wanted to share a video that provides tips on taking landscape photos in the fog.

In this video, Andrew Marr finds some gorgeous shots and provides good tips for creating awesome landscape photos on an early morning covered by fog. Check out the video that we originally saw on FStoppers and we hope it gives you some inspiration to get out and take some landscape photography in fog.

Are you wondering where to find fog? Here's a quick run-down of the different types of fog that may help you out that come from the original article on FStoppers:

  • Radiation Fog: You can expect this on clear, windless nights when the temperature is near the dew point, most often in lower areas. Be sure to be up early in the morning for it, as the sun burns it off relatively quickly.
  • Advection Fog: This occurs when warm and moist air moves over a colder surface. It's common at seaside locations when areas on the land are cooler than over the water.
  • Upslope Fog: This type of fog happens when moist air is blown to higher altitudes, typically up a mountain.
  • Steam Fog: This occurs when colder and dry air moves over warmer water. You can typically see it over lakes and ponds earlier in the winter when the water is still warmer than the surrounding environment.

Here are a few examples of landscape photos with fog for you to check out:
